Don’t hesitate - Plan ahead!!!  The Lady Blackhawks would love to see the Swiftel Center packed with Blackhawk Fans Friday, March 6th as they play DeSmet for a berth into the State Tournament!  If there is enough interest, a bus will leave Sanborn Central at 4:00pm and take you directly to the arena!  If you are interested, please contact Mary at Sanborn Central 495-4183 or mary.ackman@k12.sd.us  no later than noon Thursday, March 5th. Please don’t wait until the last minute to let us know you are interested!!  We will inform you Thursday by 5:00 pm if there is enough interest and the cost.
Good luck to our Blackhawk Guys as they enter District play Thursday.  We play JVC at 7:30 in the Huron Arena.  The guys would appreciate a great group of fans in the arena, but if you can’t make it, tune into (1210 AM) to listen live.  http://www.performance-radio.com/sports/

Blackhawk Pride - School Spirit day will be held Thursday in support of the boys district play and again on Friday as we send the ladies off to Brookings for the Region Game!
Girls BB this week as we head to regions on Friday in Brookings:
Thursday - Leave Sanborn at 12:45 for practice at Swiftel Center at 3:00
Pep Rally Friday at Sanborn Central at 2:45 to send the ladies off
       Friday - Leave Sanborn at 3:30 for region game at Swiftel
The Girls game Friday night with DeSmet will be covered on KOOL - 98
Soccer registration forms were sent home with elementary students Monday. Students in 6th grade and above will need to stop in the office for a form. You can find a copy in the Miscellaneous folder on our Google Drive. U6 & U8 will play out of Sanborn Central. If your child is older and is interested in playing U10, U12, U14, or U16 and up—Woonsocket is having soccer for these age groups. Your child is more than welcome to come over and play with these teams. Forms are due in the office no later than Friday - March 6th!
The FFA will be leaving for District 6 CDEs in Redfield on Friday.  We will leave Sanborn Central at 7:15 a.m. and Woonsocket at 7:30 a.m.  If you are getting on the bus at a school other than the one you are enrolled in please let Mr. Gross know.  These are hard leave times.  If you are late, you will be left.  All students will need at least clipboard and a #2 pencil.  Attending are Cole W, Dillon M, Aaron S, Trevor O, Garrett D, Cody R, Trent K, Catherine B, Sarah M, Tyler J, and Jarid B

Alexandria will be hosting a 3-on-3 Tournament on April 11th for grades 2-8.  Registration forms need to be turned in by April 7th – No late entries!  Forms can be found in our Community folder on the Google drive.


Is your daughter interested in becoming a Girl Scout?  We have someone willing to help us get established.  Forms will be sent home with the little ladies and are due back on Monday.  You will also find the form in our Google Drive in the Miscellaneous Folder. There is an explanation of what each grade division does - so read all the way to the end!


Looking for something to do on Sunday, March 8th?  Attend the Kevin Schwader Benefit at the Howard Armory.  It starts at 11:00 with a free will pork loin dinner including chips, beans, and a drink. There will be a silent auction and a live auction - so lots of fun will be had!  Kevin is the husband of Ashley (Muller) Schwader. The benefit will help Kevin with medical expenses.  He had his valve and aorta replaced on January 20, 2015 at Mayo.  He continues to do cardiac rehab 3 days a week in Mitchell!


The spring/summer 4-H Teens As Teachers program is now accepting registrations. The deadline to register for training is March 23rd.This is an exciting opportunity for teams of 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students to take a lead making a difference in their community while utilizing engaging curriculum to teach others!  Teens who complete the program are also eligible to apply for a scholarship to be utilized at the postsecondary institution of their choice.  For a complete overview of the Teens as Teachers Program go to: http://igrow.org/4h/south-dakota-4h/sd-4-h-teens-as-teachers-program/
