Good Luck Blackhawks as you travel to Mitchell Christian today. Due to illness at Mitchell Christian the schedule has changed. There will not be a Varsity Girls game! The bus will leave SC at 2:55. Tip off will still be at 4:00 with JVB playing first, followed by JVG (5:15 approx), then Varsity Boys at 6:30!
If your parents were unable to attend conferences on Friday, you have until Wednesday, February 25th to receive your bonus points. Just have your parents call or e-mail your teachers!
Any student interested in participating in Soccer next season with our Coop involving Mt. Vernon & Mitchell Christian, please contact Mr. McCain ASAP.

Boys: 10:30AM- SCW vs. JVC - 11AM- JVC vs. Ethan - 11:30AM- Ethan vs. SCW
Next Thursday, February 26th we will not do HS Eligibility. MS eligibility, updates, and homework club will be done as usual! Teachers are asked to keep grades updated for parent and student viewing.
The Legion Essays and Poems will be due in the office on Friday, February 27th.

Breaking News!!!! FFA’s Believe Scholarship Challenge/Penny War - The FFA will match a donation of up to $500 from Sanborn Central School students. The class PK-8 that raises the most money will get to eat burgers with the high school FFA members on Thursday, March 5th.

Monday, February 23 - Penny War Starts - Mr. Sonne visit w/ 8, 11, and 12th grade
Tuesday, February 24 – Butterbraids for School Staff
Wednesday, February 25 - Morning Serve Donuts – reminder slips will be distributed to elementary students - Serve Ice Cream to 8th Grade -discuss FFA.
Thursday, February 26 – Blue/Gold Dress up Day
Friday, February 27 - Informal Greenhand Ceremony - Penny War Ends
Thursday March 5 – FFA Member Grill Out
Child Find: I am working on the yearly census updates and want to make sure that we have all preschool aged children in our census. This not only assists with projected numbers, but will ensure that you are aware of preschool screening when it’s time! If you have a child born after September 1, 2010, please contact mary.ackman@k12.sd.us to see if I have you in our list!
Tracy Moody is applying for a Monsanto grant and part of the application process is to be nominated by as many local farmers as possible. If you would consider taking the time to go to the following website and nominate our school, it would increase our chances of receiving the grant. Need a prom dress???? Saturday, February 21st from 9am to 3pm at the Wesleyan Church on 6th and Sanborn is the Glass SLipper’s annual event!! Any Prom dresses, shoes, or jewelry donations can be dropped off at the church office Tuesday-Friday between 9am and 4pm.
