Congratulations to our MS candidates for Valentine Coronation!  When Mr. Flatten tallied the votes the candidates were: Renee’ Farmer, Madi Moody, Abby Vermeulen, Cole Moody, Austin Schmit, and Sawyer Senska!
Congratulations to Katie Schmit – she won the District KC Free Throw contest and is patiently waiting to see if she has enough points to qualify for state!
Don’t forget that Ms. Senska will be leaving at 11:20 for the Region V Vocal Contest. Seniors will have privileges.  The rest of the HS will report to Vickie for study hall in the gym.   6th Vocal will report to Mr. Flatten’s room for study hall today.  7/8th will have study hall in the music room.
Girls are at Sanborn Central and Boys at Woonsocket today.


I am working on the yearly census updates and want to make sure that we have all pre-school aged children in our census. This not only assists with projected numbers, but will ensure that you are aware of pre-school screening when it’s time!  If you have a child born after September 1, 2010, please contact mary.ackman@k12.sd.us to see if I have you in our list!
Stats for the Lady Blackhawks from Iroquois last night - JV 31-9 with Leaders: Abby Doering 12 points, Sarah Morgan 6 points, Alissa Ball and Madi Moody 4 points.  The varsity ladies won 68-18 with Myah Selland 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists; Morgan Selland 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists; and Kayla Olson 8 points.
Tomorrow the seniors will be taking the NCRC test.  You must be in the Ag Room by 8:15!

The Winterguard Schedule has had some adjustments made for February!  We had to change some of our practices for February due to conflicts. The practices for the rest of February:
        Thurs Feb 12th @ Woonsocket 6:30-9pm
        Monday Feb 16th @ Sanborn Central 8am-3pm (Would like to bring in clinicians)
       Tues Feb 17th @ Woonsocket 6:30-9pm
        Sun Feb 22nd @ TBA 1:30-3:30pm
Friday, February 13th Parent Teacher Conferences will be held from 8:00-12:30.  MS/HS Students whose parents attend conferences will receive bonus points in those classes.  If you are unable to attend you may contact the teacher by phone or e-mail prior to February 25th to receive the bonus.
During Parent Conferences we will have a box/boxes in the hall by the office with lost and found items.  Please check it out!
Ms. Wenzel and Mr. Olsen will be at Sanborn Central for Conferences until 10:00am on Friday.

Mr. Kroeger will be gone to bandmasters this Friday, February 13th – there will be no pep band!
The Little Blackhawks will be performing this Friday in Woonsocket at halftime of the boys game vs. Highmore/Harrold. The boys varsity game will begin at approximately 6:30pm. Please have the girls at the gym by 6:30.  Coach Baruth & Coach Olson.

The pairings for the DWU Boys Classic on February 14th has been uploaded to our Forms & Publications – Google Drive – Athletics – Basketball folder.  We play Langford at 7:00 pm.

The Sanborn Central School District has the following vacancies for the 2014-2015 school year:
   **Regular Bus Route Driver – Position open immediately. Open until filled. (District will pay for physical and CDL tests.)
  **Substitute bus drivers for the 2014-15 school year.  (District will pay for physical and CDL tests.)
Application Form is available on the district website or can be picked up in the office of the Superintendent and will be taken until positions are filled.


Need a prom dress???? Saturday, February 21st from 9am to 3pm at the Wesleyan Church on 6th and Sanborn is the Glass SLipper’s annual event!! Any Prom dresses, shoes, or jewelry donations can be dropped off at the church office Tuesday-Friday between 9am and 4pm.  We will be collecting at Sanborn Central also. Do you have plans for this Sunday - February 15th?  Be at the Letcher Community Center for the Tim Moody  Soup and sandwich dinner to benefit Tim Moody who suffered a traumatic brain injury in November, 2014. Dinner will be homemade soups, sandwiches and dessert for a free will donation. There will be a silent auction also which will start at 11am and conclude at 1pm.
