See lots of yellow today?  That’s because the Rebels are learning about respect this month in our Character Counts program!

Good Luck to the Blackhawks as they travel to Iroquois today.  The bus will leave SC at 2:30 with a JVG tip-off scheduled for 4:00.  JVB will play next followed by VG and VB.
Wishing success and fun to our Region Vocal contestants tomorrow – Morgan Selland, Tamra Mann, Breanne Brandenburg, and Lori Eppe.
What a record night for the Lady Blackhawks!!!!!!  Myah Selland recorded the first ever triple double - with 15 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds.   Morgan Selland broke the record of 3 pointers in a game by racking up 8 which also helped her break the record for most 3 pointers in a career! Myah Selland’s 11 assists also broke the record for most assists in the game!
Effective immediately Mrs. Coulthard’s 11:35 study hall on Blue days will be held in the Ag room!
                                  
Our Jazz Band is attending the Palace city Jazz Fest today.  
There will be no band lessons today.  Mrs. Easton will do 8-12 Band and Mr. Kroeger is hoping to be back in time for 5th and 6/7th band.
Wednesday, February 11th, Ms. Senska will be leaving at 11:20 for the Region V Vocal Contest.  Seniors will have privileges.  The rest of the HS will report to Vickie for study hall in the gym.
Thursday, February 12th the seniors will be taking the NCRC test.  You must be in the Ag Room by 8:15!

Mr. Kroeger will be gone to bandmasters this Friday, February 13th – there will be no pep band!

Stats from the Lady Blackhawk games on Saturday with Wolsey/Wessington: VG victory 68-27 with Leaders: Morgan Selland 21 points and 6 assists; Myah Selland 16 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and 5 steals; Tayla Weber 6 points and 5 rebounds; and Kayla Olson 6 points and 4 steals.
Last night the JV Ladies defeated Emery/Bridgewater 27-15 with Abby Doering scoring 11 points and 5 rebounds; Sarah Morgan 7 points; and Alissa Ball 6 points.  The Varsity Gals won 68-35.  Leaders were: Morgan Selland with 28 points; Myah Selland 15 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists, and 5 steals.

The Winterguard Schedule has had some adjustments made for February!  We had to change some of our practices for February due to conflicts. The practices for the rest of February:

Friday, February 13th Parent Teacher Conferences will be held from 8:00-12:30.  MS/HS Students whose parents attend conferences will receive bonus points in those classes. If you are unable to attend you may contact the teacher by phone or e-mail prior to February 25th to receive the bonus.
During Parent Conferences we will have a box/boxes in the hall by the office with lost and found items.  Please check it out!

The Sanborn Central School District has the following vacancies for the 2014-2015 school year:
   **Regular Bus Route Driver – Position open immediately. Open until filled. (District will pay for physical and CDL tests.)
  **Substitute bus drivers for the 2014-15 school year.  (District will pay for physical and CDL tests.)
Application Form is available on the district website or can be picked up in the office of the Superintendent and will be taken until positions are filled.

Reminder:  Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA is seeking chaperones for the SD FFA State Convention in Brookings in April.  So far Mr. Gross has only heard from one parent.  Even if you have talked to me, please email to reconfirm!  There must be 1 chaperone for every 10 students.

Note: The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA is seeking individuals interested in being a coach for FFA CDEs(Career Development Events).  Students have signed up for the following CDE areas: Ag Business Management, Agricultural Mechanics, Agronomy, Vet Science, Natural Resources, Meats, Milk Quality and Products, Horse Evaluation, and Floriculture.  If you are interested in helping in some way or have any questions, please contact Mr. Gross at shane.gross@k12.sd.us. Need a prom dress???? Saturday, February 21st from 9am to 3pm at the Wesleyan Church on 6th and Sanborn is the Glass SLipper’s annual event!! Any Prom dresses, shoes, or jewelry donations can be dropped off at the church office Tuesday-Friday between 9am and 4pm.  We will be collecting at Sanborn Central also. Do you have plans for this Sunday - February 15th?  Be at the Letcher Community Center for the Tim Moody  Soup and sandwich dinner to benefit Tim Moody who suffered a traumatic brain injury in November, 2014. Dinner will be homemade soups, sandwiches and dessert for a free will donation. There will be a silent auction also which will start at 11am and conclude at 1pm. Rumor has it that there are a lot of wonderful items on the silent auction. Hope to see you there!
