Good Luck to the Blackhawk guys as they take on Springs tonight in Woonsocket.  The JH boys tip off at 5:15 followed by JV, and Varsity.  It’s going to be a night of Blackhawk fun!  The little cheerleaders are performing, the Winterguard is performing, and the Pep Band is playing!  If you absolutely can’t be there – tune into Woonsocket’s Santel Channel 104 to watch the fun!
Little Cheerleaders need to be in the Woonsocket Kindergarten room at 6:30 and ready to show us what they can do!  Have fun!
Congratulations to the Lady Blackhawks on working hard to be the District 6B Champs with a 65-42 victory over JVC!  Leaders were Myah Selland  24 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals;  Tayla Weber  15 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists; Kayla Olson  10 points, 2 assists and steals;  Morgan Selland 8 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists; Maddie Vermeulen 6 points, 3 assists and 2 steals
Girls will practice at SC today.
We wish the Winterguard nothing but success as they travel to Minnesota to compete at Mendota Heights and Coon Rapids on Saturday!
Please join us this Saturday night, February 28, for a Supper and Bean Bag Tournament in support of Tanna Kingsbury’s Believe Scholarship Challenge. This event will be held at the Stekl Shop near Letcher (40512 240th St. or 1 mile north and 1.25 miles east of Letcher). A pork loin supper will be served starting at 5:00 p.m. Registration for the bean bag tournament will be from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. and the tournament will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. Free will donations will be accepted for the meal, and tournament fees are just $20/team. Even if you don’t want to participate in the tournament, please join us for supper and the rest of the fun and festivities. There will be a silent auction going on, the tablet give-away winner will be announced, and a roll-over auction of Tanna’s heifer will take place. There will also be a bouncy house, photo booth, and many activities during the evening. Monday begins boys district play.  The Blackhawks have earned a bye in the first round and will play JVC Tuesday, March 3rd in Huron at 7:30pm.  Brackets can be found at
Monday is the local Conservation Speech Contest.  At this time participants and time haven’t been confirmed.  We do know that it is in the afternoon.

FFA Penny War totals – and it changes by the minute! As of last night the PreK-K were in the lead with +228; 4th grade holds down the 2nd spot with -9, 8th grade a close 3rd with -125, 6th grade in 4th place with -147, 7th grade 5th place with -200, 1st grade is in 6th place with -309, 3rd grade in 7th with -378, 2nd grade is in 8th place with -587, and 5th grade trail with -803.  This morning the bags were hit with masses of silver so I’m sure the lead has changed again! So far just over $100 has been raised for the Believe Scholarship fund!  Rumor has it that some classes are holding out for the last minute – 2:15pm on Friday!
Blackhawk Fever!!!   The ladies play JVC for the district championship tonight at 7:00 in the Huron Arena.  We will send them off with a Pep Rally in Woonsocket at 2:45.  Any student wishing to attend, other than the players, will need a note from parents.

Are you a South Dakota History buff?  You may want to see this!  Tonight (2/26) at 8pm CST, SDPB TV debuts "Temples of Justice", a history of SD county courthouses and their stories. Of special note is an entire chapter detailing how Forestburg missed being the county seat of two different counties in two consecutive years, and several beauty shots of the courthouse in Woony. Congratulations to the SCW Winterguard!  They have been selected to perform at the Girls State B Tournament, Friday March 13th, Session 4, second game halftime!  We are so very Blackhawk Proud of South Dakota's first competitive Winterguard team!

There will be a pep rally for the GBB Team on Thursday at 2:45PM in Woonsocket.  Students, other than varsity girls, wishing to attend must have a note from their parents!
