Blue Day
Happy Birthday last Saturday to Shane Nelson!

This week is South Dakota School Board Recognition week!  We are so very fortunate to have people who choose to place the education of our youth as a top priority in their personal lives.  These people give up a lot of personal time with little thanks.  Please if you should happen to see Rick Miller, Justin Enfield, Troy Olson, Brenda Schmit, or Clayton Dean thank them!
Good luck to the JH basketball teams with their games at White Lake tonight.  Girls tip off at 6:00 with the boys to follow.
Girls practice at SC and Boys at Woonsocket today.
6th and 7th Grade Students please turn in your 6 Decisions book to Ms. Wenzel ASAP!
The school board meets tonight at 7:00.  The agenda can be found at Forms & Publications – Google – Drive – School Board
The Lady Blackhawks were defeated by the Titans on Saturday.  Stats for the varsity game - Mt. Vernon Plankinton 64   Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 49 - Leaders: Myah Selland 23 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds,   Morgan Selland 14 points and 4 assists.  JV: Mt. Vernon/Plankinton 40 Sanborn Central / Woonsocket 16 - Leaders: Sarah Morgan and Megan Kleppin each had 3 points
The Blackhawks boys team suffered their first loss of the season falling to Mt Vernon-Plankinton 68-56.  Helping the cause:  Joe Davis—3 assists, 1 steal, Dillon Moore—18 pts, 7 reb, 3 steals, 3 blocks, Trevor Olson—5 pts, 2 reb, 1 assist, Tucker Kingsbury—14 pts, 7 reb, 5 assists, 5 steals, Josh Feiner—4 pts, 2 reb, 1 steal, Jarid Bechen—4 pts, 2 reb, 1 steal, Brady Tiede—9 pts, 10 reb, Rex Schlicht—2 pts, 1 steal  FG 25-64 for 39% FT 3-5 60%   Reb Adv—us 30-26   MVP shot 52% FG   Coach Olson’s comments:  Simply put, we were outplayed by them.  As coaches, we have to do a better job getting the boys ready to play. Seven turnovers in the first quarter coupled with not defending put us in a hole that we tried climbing out of the whole game.
The boys JV won and C team lost.  7th grade won and 8th grade lost.
Wanted:  Snacks for bus ride to practices.  The boys basketball players are extremely hungry after school and a little extra energy is helpful.  If anyone would like to donate some snacks (jerky, cookies, granola bars, etc) would be greatly appreciated.  Donations can be dropped off/sent to SC to be used for bus rides to Woonsocket and Woonsocket will do the same.  We have 15 boys from SC.  Thanks for your support!
The schedule for the games tomorrow night in Woonsocket is 4:00 JVB, JVG 5:00, VB 6:30, and VG 8:00.  These games can be watched on Santel’s Channel 104 if you aren’t able to attend.
