Lists of missing assignments need to be in to Mrs. Vermeulen and Mrs. Whitney no later than noon today!  If a student still has missing assignments at 1:00 tomorrow, parents will be notified and you must be here at 8:00 am Friday morning!!!!
Girls practice in Woonsocket and boys at SC today.
Tune into KELO tonight at 6:30 for their basketball preview.  Our girls and boys teams are featured!
Rock Solid will be having their annual Christmas supper and party tonight at the Letcher Community Church at 630pm.  A meal of baked ham, hash brown casserole, sweet potatoes, a vegetable, buns and dessert will be served followed by the white elephant gift exchange.  Please bring a gift to exchange, not to exceed $5.00.  Rock Solid is open to any student in grades 9-12.  Hope to see you there!
Mr. Kroeger is gone today.  HS Band will do sectionals, 5-7 band will meet at regular time with Amberiah.  No lessons today.
The pile of lost and found items is growing in my office!!!!  If you are missing anything – jackets, sweatshirts, gloves, cookie sheet, shorts, etc. please stop in today and get them!!!!
There will not be tutoring on Thursday, December 11th, due to the Christmas Concert.

From Ms. Senska – Concert times - Preschool through grade 4 students need to be in their classrooms by 6:45 P.M. and non-band students in grades 5 through 8 be in their assigned seats by 6:55 P.M.  tomorrow evening.

The schedule for Saturday’s games with SBA is 11:30 JHG, 12:30 JVG, Boys C 1:30, VG 3:00, and VB 4:30.  These games will be aired on Santel Channel 104, but it should be a beautiful day to come to the games!
Girls and Boys basketball Parent's Day/Night is on Dec. 13 at Woonsocket vs. SBA. The 7-12th girls will be announced before the girls varsity warm-ups with the game scheduled at 3PM and the 7-12th boys will be announced before the boys varsity warm-ups with their game scheduled for 4:30PM. The cheerleaders will be announced with the Girls BB team.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA will be serving a baked potato bar at the basketball game held in Woonsocket on Saturday, December 13th.  We are still looking for people willing to donate ham, butter, and sour cream.  In addition, are looking for parents who would be able to help serve.  If you are able to help the FFA in any of these ways or have any questions, please let us know by emailing Mr. Gross at shane.gross@k12.sd.us.
To all parents and girls in grades 1-4 Coach Rob Baruth and Coach Emily Olson are starting a Little Blackhawks Girls Basketball program.  It will be a fun program for the girls to come and learn the basics of basketball.  The program is free to all girls in grades 1-4.  An informational sheet with dates, time and locations will be sent home with your child.  Also a copy is attached to the announcements.  If you have any questions feel free to contact Coach Rob Baruth at 354-2699 or Coach Emily Olson at 933-1102.

The Junior Class has 2 Prom fundraisers left for you to participate in during basketball season.  Contact Tracy Moody for more information:
        1.  We will be doing the basketball board again for all home varsity games.  You can buy a spot on the board for $20.  Scores will be checked at half-time of each home varsity girls and boys game. $30 will be given to the winner each time.  We have 7 home games and you need not be present to win.  The first 25 people to contact Tracy Moody at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us will have spots on the board!!  The board is uploaded to our Google Drive.
      2.  A new idea this year, we will have The Super Sofa!!  You can purchase a ticket to sit on the sofa with up to 3 friends for a single home game.  2 names will be drawn for double headers.  Each ticket is $5, you may purchase as many as you would like.  This should be great fun for elementary through adults!  Your ticket will stay in the bucket the entire year unless it is drawn!!  Contact any junior, Tracy Moody tracy.moody@k12.sd.us  or Mary Ackman at mary.ackman@k12.sd.us  to purchase a ticket.

Santa will be at Letcher Legion Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 10 to-noon. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served at no charge. That evening the Legion will play Bingo for Turkeys, win a 10-12# turkey playing bingo. $1.00 a card for bingo. BBQ's and pie will be sold starting at 6:30 that night. Bingo starts at 8.

Sal’s 19th Annual Holiday Open House will be Saturday, Dec. 13th from 9 to 4 and Sunday, Dec. 14th, from noon to 4 at my home in Letcher. Stop by and check out my new personalized snowmen and bulletin boards. There will also be Avon and Crocheted items. Stop by for some hot apple cider or coffee and cookies. Hope to see you there!!! The Artesian Community Improvement Association will be holding their annual Ham Drawing/Membership Drive on Friday, December 19th, 2014 at the Artesian Community Center. Supper will be served at 6:30. Drawings and a visit from Santa will follow! Membership dues are $20 a couple and go towards summer youth programs and community events.
