Sanborn Central offers our condolences to the Hobaugh/Hoffman and Greenway families on the passing of their loved ones last Friday.

Celebrating birthdays over the Christmas break are Brady Larson & Leighton Tarbox on December 26th; Tori Hoffman December 28th; Breanne Brandenburg December 29th; Karen Fouberg January 1st; Michael Strand & Parker Ettswold January 3rd; and Carter Edwards January 4th!  

The staff at Sanborn Central would like to thank the Rebel Booster Club for remembering us this holiday season.  Your continued support and interest in our youth assists in making Sanborn Central a top notch school!
Good luck to the Lady Blackhawks as they host Howard today at Sanborn Central.  The JH ladies tip off at 5:15.  The pep band will play.  If you are unable to attend the game – tune in to Santel Channel 107. (Reimer/Sevareid).

The Blackhawks Winterguard will be doing a fundraiser at tonight's game. Modern Woodmen of America will be matching up to $1000 for funds raised. The Winterguard girls will be selling chili fritos and cinnamon rolls, dessert plates, and having a 2-liter pop shot. Come out and help us raise money for our first competitive season!!
Marla will be here at 10:30 to finish up some health screenings.
At 1:40 a KidQuest presentation for 6th grade students will be held in MS Lab.  The 5th grade presentation will be at 2:30 there.
MS & EL grades need to be posted no later than 3:00 today.  Please let Mrs. Vermeulen or Mary know when you are done.
The pile of lost and found items in the office will be leaving here at 11:30 on December 23rd   - Check it out!!!
Remember HS Students – you are not required to come to school tomorrow.  Watch the roads!

Blue Day Semester Testing 

Stats from the Blackhawk games last night - Girls JV: Blackhawks 33 Tripp/Delmont/Armour 17  Leaders:  Alissa Ball with14 points, Abby Doering 7points and 5 rebounds, and Tristan Ziebart 6 points.  Varsity Blackhawks  52  Tripp/Delmont/Armour  30: Leaders:  Myah Selland 15 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists, Tayla Weber 14 points and 7 rebounds, Kayla Olson 11 points and 3 steals, Morgan Selland 4 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.  

In boys’ action: Boys BB vs. Tripp-Delmont/Armour last night—Blackhawks won 74-47.  Contributing for the boys:  Josh-13 pt, Dillon-21 pt,7 st, 1 dunk;  Tucker-5 pt, 6 st,4 assist; Rex-6 pt; Jarid- 8pt;  Wyatt- 6 pt;  Trevor 6 pt; Garrett L-2 pt; Austin- 3 pt; Garrett D- 2 pt; Logun-1 pt.  30-63   47.6% FG and 11-14   71.4    FT.  We outrebounded them 26-18, had 19 assists, and created 38 turnovers.   Coach Olson’s comments:  The boys have played well in our 1st 2 games of the season.  We are getting positive minutes from a lot of players.  Our depth is certainly going to be a strength for us.  Our next game will be a tough one vs. Hitchcock-Tulare.

The semester ends on Tuesday, December 23rd!  Elementary and MS grades need to be posted for report cards no later than Monday, December 22nd at 3:00 pm.  

HS grades need to be posted no later than Tuesday, December 23rd at 7:00am.  6th- 8th 

Band Lessons- Some students have 1 or none lessons. Mr. Kroeger will only make up a max of 2 lessons a week. If you are behind, you need to make them up immediately! Failure to do so will result in a poor grade for the quarter. 

Rumor has it that the SCW Winterguard will be doing some fund raising at Monday nights game.  Be sure to bring some spare change!

Good Luck to the Blackhawks as they travel to Armour today.  The bus will leave SC at 2:15.  The schedule is JVG at 4:00pm followed by JVB, VG, VB.  If you aren’t making the trip you can watch the games on Armour’s HS Cube http://www.highschoolcube.com/cube/armour-high-school-01-armour-south-dakota
MS homework club sheets will be distributed this afternoon as normal.  However, MS students will not be required to stay for homework club on Monday, December 22nd as your grades will be on report cards at that time.  All students – it’s to your advantage to get your work turned in!!!

Our Upland students will be presenting their Christmas Concert this evening - Have a great time!
Basketball pictures today - Girls ball players plus Jarid, Garrett, and Trevor will leave at 1:30.  JH boys will leave at 2:00 with Kevin, but will return in time for busses.   The form can be found on our Google Drive - Athletics - Basketball
