What a great week to be a Blackhawk!!!! The Lady Blackhawks are playing for the Region Championship, Tuesday night at 7:00 in Arlington – a victory sends them to the State Volleyball Tournament. The Blackhawk Football team has earned a berth in the State 9AA Championship game to be played Thursday at 1:30 in the dome! BLACKHAWK PROUD!!!!!!
Good Luck to our FFA Members Participating in Leadership CDEs tonight: Make sure you are changed into official dress and ready to load onto the bus at 3:15 p.m. in Woonsocket and 3:30 p.m. at S.C. Gather the supplies you need to bring for your event. Members who are staying for football practice make sure to coordinate with other football players to get to Mitchell after practice. You must be in Official Dress.
Homework Club meets tonight.
The Mt. Marty Rep has re-scheduled their visit for December3rd.
Junior high girls basketball will not have practice today due to football practice at Woonsocket and volleyball practice at Sanborn Central. We will have a practice tomorrow from 3:30 to 4:30 at Woonsocket and that will still give those that are going to the volleyball match time to get there. We will also have practice on Wednesday at Woonsocket. Reminder: Parents will need to get their daughter to Alexandria on Saturday for the tournament. Please have them there between 9:15 to 9:30.
The 5/6 game with Wolsey at Woonsocket has been cancelled (Wolsey let out of school due to weather)

There will be a pep rally at Woonsocket tomorrow for the volleyball team headed to the Region Championship tomorrow night in Arlington. All students grades 6-12 will be bused over and staff as well. The buses will leave at 12:30 for a 12:45 pep rally and will return shortly after 1:00.
Tuesday, November 11th – Band will need to report to the gym at 8:30.
Spread the word to family and friends………..The SC Student Council invites all veterans and the public to attend the Veteran’s Day Service on November 11th at 9:00 AM in the gym. The SC band will be performing in honor of our veterans under the direction of Mr. Kroeger. Student Body President, Jarid Bechen, will be giving a speech. Amberiah Smith will be reading a poem and Logan Effling will be selecting a reading in honor of our veterans. Please come join us in honoring current military members and our veterans!
There will be a pep rally for the football team on Wednesday at 11:15 here at Sanborn Central. Wessington Springs and Woonsocket students will be coming over for it and the team will leave right after for a practice at the Pentagon Field House. The public is invited to attend.
FFA T-shirt order deadline will be extended to Wednesday, November 12th. Please bring orders to the school to be given to Mr. Gross.
There will be no MS Homework Club or MS Updates due to no school Thursday or Friday.
Wessington Springs 5/6 BB game on Thursday has also been cancelled due to the Dome football game.
Mrs. Danek is looking for actors and actresses for the One Act Play Competition. As this is a competition you must meet the eligibility requirements. If you are interested – see Mrs. Danek ASAP!
7-12 students interested in cheerleading for the basketball season should sign up on the sheets between the MS Lab and the Library. You must be signed up by November 12th!
Need some new Blackhawk gear?? A group of students are planning to make a trip to DC in May of 2015. This is a great way to help them raise the funds needed as well as to get a new shirt! These would make great Christmas presents for parents, grandparents and kids. The site will run from Nov 3 to Nov 17 and the items should arrive at the school Dec 3rd. The Sanborn County American Cancer Society is looking for some volunteers in the Forestburg area that would be willing to put their house on our 10th annual Tour of Homes. The tour would be on Saturday, December 6. We have two homes lined up so far and we are looking for at least two more! URGENT - BUS DRIVER NEEDED: If you are willing to drive bus, we need you!!!!! Due to an illness of a bus driver we are in desperate need for a substitute driver. Even if you are not willing to get your CDL we could use you to drive the 14-passenger bus for a route as you don't need a CDL to drive that bus. The pay is $30 per route which takes about 70 minutes in the morning and about 80 minutes in the afternoon. Exact time varies depending on who rides. Leaves SC at 6:35am in the morning and leaves after the 3:20pm bell in the afternoon. Contact Mrs. Whitney if you would be willing to earn some extra money.
