Orange Day
Today we celebrate our Bus Drivers, Cooks, and Janitors for American Education Week.  Joyce Everhart, Mary Unterbrunner, Tina Luthi, Karen DeWaard, Mark Seitz, Kari Hunter, Steve Whitney, Gary Goudy, Gary Willman, Buck Ross, and Judy Hemminger with Shane Gross and Linda Whitney substituting are the behind the scene faces that make our school day run smoothly.  We raise our hands to you!

The band students are fundraising for their senior band trips. Please talk to a band student if you are interested in buying some Little Caesar's pizza kits or other frozen food.
Thank you so much Town-n-Kountry Blue Group 4-H Club.  They have provided students with a treat – please have the students stop in the office to get theirs from the basket.  They also provided all staff with flavored water.  All of us at Sanborn Central appreciate what you do for us.

Congratulations to our SCW FFA CDE participants - Here are the results from the District 4 CDEs held at MTI on Monday.  The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA Chapter competed against 10 other schools from across the south-central area of South Dakota.  Top three individuals and top two teams from each event will advance to state.  The next lower individual and team will be alternates.  From Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, Ag Broadcasting, Ag Issues, and Public Speaking will advance to State Leadership held in Pierre, SD on December 7-8.Ag Broadcasting - Colton Hotchkiss - 3rd Place; Ag Issues - 2nd Place (Kyla, Wyatt, Charlie, Dayna, Ty Z., Shaun); Ag Sales - 3rd Place; (Riley, Taylor, Destiny, Aaron);  Creed- Nathan Linke - 4th Place; Sr. Parliamentary Procedure - 3rd Place (Jonathan, Aaron, Trevor, Jarid, Cole, Tyler, Nathan); Jr. Parliamentary Procedure - 3rd Place (Trey, Trent, Abby, Sarah, Callie, Catherine, Bailey); Marketing Plan - 6th Place (Dillon, Dylan, Tucker); Extemporaneous Speaking - Shane Nelson - 4th Place; Public Speaking - Jonathan Linke - 2nd Place; District Officer- Aaron Linke- Vice President


These students need to stop in the office and see Mary – Clay Moody, Renee Farmer, Zoei Schmidt Ellman, Emmie Schmidt, and Haylee Kopfmann.

Rock Solid will be having their Thanksgiving dinner on Wed, Nov. 19 at 6:30pm at the Letcher Community Church.  There will be turkey and all the trimmings with pumpkin pie and cheesecake for dessert.  Plan to attend and bring a friend!  Anyone in high school is welcome to attend Rock Solid.
Eligibility – MS Homework & Updates are due at noon on Thursday – get your assignments in!!!
We will be a having Blackhawk Football awards banquet on Thursday, November 20th at 6:30 pm at Sanborn Central School.  This is for 7-12 football players.  This will be potluck and the public is invited to attend and can bring a hot dish, salad, or dessert.  We ask parents bring food as follows:
·         7th Graders – Salad or Dessert
·         8th Graders – Hot Dish
·         Freshmen/Sophomores – Hot Dishes
·         Juniors – Salads
·         Seniors – Desserts
Plates, utensils, napkins, cups, and drink will be provided.
The Hanson MS GBB Tourney has been re-scheduled for this Saturday, November 22nd.  We play freeman at 8:00 am.


Help make memories!!!!!  We are keeping the http://stores.blue84spirit.com/sd2603  Blackhawk shirt ordering site open until tonight at midnight.  We only need $200 more to hit the next level.  Please re-think your Christmas list, and help these young students make memories that will last a life time in Washington DC. URGENT - BUS DRIVER NEEDED:  If you are willing to drive bus, we need you!!!!!  Due to an illness of a bus driver we are in desperate need for a substitute driver.  Even if you are not willing to get your CDL we could use you to drive the 14-passenger bus for a route as you don't need a CDL to drive that bus.  The pay is $30 per route which takes about 70 minutes in the morning and about 80 minutes in the afternoon.  Exact time varies depending on who rides.  Leaves SC at 6:35am in the morning and leaves after the 3:20pm bell in the afternoon.
