Congratulations to our All State Chorus members: Isaiah Kruger, Shane Nelson, Breanne Brandenburg, and Tamra Mann. Catherine Bechen, Devin Garrett, Tyler Johnson, and Madalyn Vermeulen are alternates. They will be attending All-State Preparation Days in Aberdeen and Brookings on October 8th and 9th.

Congratulations to our MS Student Council Members – Cayden & Katie, Abby & Alex, and Cassidy & Alexis!

Good Luck to the Lady Blackhawks as they play SBA at 7:15 tonight in Tulare.  Bus will leave SC at 4:30 and Woony 4:45.

There will be no JH VB practice today.  Please be in Plankinton on Saturday by 8:30.  Thank You Coach Moore

The USD Rep will be here at 11:30 today to visit with any interested juniors or seniors.

Cheer Camp today in Woonsocket until 6:30.  They need to be there at 6:30 tomorrow also.

FFA Land and Range Results - top 4 students make up the team score.  Land - Sanborn Central/Woonsocket-9th place team out of 14 with a score of 1368.  Trent Kingsbury was 3 points from receiving a placing.  Other team members included Taylor Burkel, Charlie Enfield, Bailey Schmiedt, Riley Schmiedt, Sydney Zeller, Alissa Ball, Destiny Brick, Garrett Dean, and Trevor Olson.  Range - Sanborn Central/Woonsocket-5th place team out of 9 with a score of 1624; Jonathan Linke-1st place(Gold) individual with a score of 577; Aaron Linke-14th place(Silver) individual with a score of 469; Nathan Like was 16 points from receiving a placing.  Tate Ziebart was also a team member.  As the high individual in the Range Evaluation event, Jonathan Linke will receive a $100 scholarship.  Congrats to everyone who participated!

Attention Area Livestock Producers: The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA is selling Crystalyx cards again this year!  Our partner retailers are Forestburg Farmer’s Elevator, Stan’s in Alpena, and Amkota in Wessington Springs.  By purchasing one of these cards for $20 you receive $40 off 1 ton of Crystalyx lick tubs.  This is a great opportunity to support your local agricultural education program.  The students at Sanborn Central and Woonsocket Schools are very thankful for your continued support!  Contact an FFA member or Mr. Gross at the school if you are interested in purchasing cards or for more information.

The band bus will leave SC at 11:30 for the parade in Woonsocket which begin at 1:00 tomorrow.

Friday night’s football game with Hitchcock/Tulare will be aired on KOKK radio.

The South Dakota National Guard, along with the Woonsocket Booster Club, is sponsoring a homecoming tailgate party on Friday, October 3rd starting at 6:00 pm at the football field.  Hamburgers, Brats, Chips and Drink will be served for a free will donation with all proceeds going to the Booster Club.

The volleyball team has established their Dig Pink Night as October 24th.  The new shirt design is up and ready to be ordered.  Questions – contact Robin Moody at robin.moody@k12.sd.us  Orders need to be placed by Thursday, October 9th and forms can be found in the Volleyball Folder, Athletics, on our Google Drive

Friday, October 10th is our first extra help day.  MS  & HS teachers will turn in lists of missing assignments on Wednesday, October 8th at noon.  Students will be notified of all missing assignments.  Thursday, October 9th we will begin calling the parents of students who have not completed all missing assignments at 1:00 pm.  Friday, October 10th students will need to be present from 8:00 am until 11:00 am or all assignments are turned in.

MS/HS Students remind your parents to contact the teachers so that you receive your bonus points before October 10th.  Teachers will be available on October 10th, our extra help day, from 8:00-11:00 am if parents want to schedule an appointment.  If you have problems with your parent portal contact mary.ackman@k12.sd.us
