It’s the end of our 1st Quarter of the school year!
Happy Birthday tomorrow to Toby Kneen and Mrs. Effling.  Sunday Mr. Gross will celebrate his birthday.
Good Luck to the football team as they host Corsica/Stickney in Springs tonight.  Don’t forget to go a bit early and enjoy the tailgate party.
5/6th basketball practice at Sanborn Central today.
7-12 VB practice at Woonsocket today.
There is a mandatory Parli Pro (not freshman) practice in Woonsocket at 3:25 today.
Please turn in your flu shot forms today.  We will give Marla a preliminary count on Tuesday morning.  You will still be able to get a shot on Wednesday even if we don’t have the form. We have reached the maximum number of nasal mists that we are allowed.  If your completed form wasn't in the office prior to 11:00 am yesterday - you won't be able to receive a mist at this time. Questions regarding your form - contact Mary at mary.ackman@k12.sd.us or 495-4183. Any questions regarding the immunization itself, feel free to contact the Sanborn County nurse at 796-4510.

The Letcher Junior Youth will meet at noon this Sunday, October 19th at the Letcher Community Church.

Monday, October 20th the volleyball team travels to Stickney.  The JH game begins at 5:15 followed by the JV and Varsity.
Monday, October 20th  the 5/6th basketball teams travel to Mitchell Christian.  The girls play at 6:00 followed by the boys.
Monday, October 20th  football practice will be at Woonsocket.
Monday, October 20th there will be a required Parli Pro practice at SC at 7:15.

A flu shot clinic will be held in Artesian on Tuesday, October 21st from 11:30-1:00. Contact Marla or Sue at 796-4510 for more information.

October 21st thru 24th Sanborn Central will be celebrating Character Counts week!  Information regarding the activities and dress for next week’s Character Counts Week has been uploaded to our Google Drive – Forms and Publications – Miscellaneous Folder

A huge thank you to those providing our students with the Backpack Program!  They have revised the guidelines to include the students who receive not only free meals but also REDUCED. Applications were included with the back to school packet, and the newly revised one has been uploaded to our web site - Forms & Publications - Google Drive - Miscellaneous Folder - Backpack Program.  Feel free to submit a new application if you think you might qualify.

Crystalyx Cards are still being sold by Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA.  The cards are accepted at Forestburg Farmer’s Elevator, Stan’s in Alpena,  Amkota in Wessington Springs, and Carthage Farmers Elevator.  A big thank you from SC/W FFA to these local businesses for their support of this program and the FFA!

Information regarding the 5th Annual Mt. Vernon Wild Game Feed - Saturday, October, 25, 2014 - Serving starts – 6:30 p.m.  has been uploaded to our Google Drive – Forms and Publications – Community Folder.   Awards and Raffle Drawing to be held at 8:00 p.m. at the Old Mt. Vernon Gym on Main Street.  Proceeds benefit the Mt.
