September 3, 2014

Wednesday – September 3, 2014Blue DayCongratulations to our freshman class – the class has returned the most completed forms so far!

Our JH and JV Football teams had their first games last night.  Unfortunately, the scoreboard did not favor the home teams.  The JH team lost 42-0 and the JV team lost 14-8.

The Josten’s rep will be here to meet with the Seniors and Sophomores sometime this afternoon.

HS/JH Football will practice at Woonsocket today.

7-12 Volleyball practice at SC today.

Tomorrow we will do our first MS Homework Club and updates.  Please have everything in the office by noon tomorrow!  Remember if you are on the homework club list – you will stay after school Monday unless the work is turned in Monday morning.

This week the 5th grade will be trying out instruments. At the end of the week, I will be sending home a packet of information about beginner band. Next week Thurs Sep 11th, Dave Williams will be in the Sanborn Central music room from 5pm to 6:30pm selling/ renting instruments. Please mark this down on your calendar if your student is going to be in band.

Reminder: There will be combined 8th-12th marching band rehearsal at Sanborn Central on Friday from 8:30am to 10:45am.

Lost on the playground yesterday during the football game – a folder belonging to a Springs student.  If found, please bring it to the office.

The football picture day is on Tuesday, Sept. 9.   The envelopes sent to each school by Lifetouch to hand out to each player had the wrong date-----Monday, Sept. 8 on them.  Tuesday, Sept. 9 is the actual day.

We will be doing one reorder of the Believe Volleyball shirts.  If you would like to place an order, they will be due on Friday, Sept. 12th at NOON.  The order form is still in our Athletic forms folder – volleyball or  contact Tracy Moody for your order at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us

Concession stand workers for Thursday, September 4th are: Valerie Mann, Thad and Shawna Baysinger, Jeff and Melissa Wormstadt, Michelle Allum, Jeremy and Tori Wels, Brian and Ashley Moe.

“ Thank you to everybody who supported Debey Senska by ordering from her Signature Homestyles Party. The items are scheduled to arrive today and will all be delivered within the next week. Thanks again for your support!”  Rachel Austerman

The list for concession stand workers this year has been uploaded to our forms folder in the athletic tab.  If you are unable to work on your scheduled day, please find a replacement. Also, please notify Tracy Moody at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us of any changes so the schedule can be updated. Please try to be at the concession stand at least 15 minutes before the start of the game. Workers are asked to stay through all of the games.   Every parent in grades 7-12 will be on the schedule as the Booster Club contributes to all areas of our school, not just athletics. Thank you for your help and support! https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxqWDgwTHOqeQXl6RlMtU3BOQ3c/edit?usp=sharing

Do you have plans for this Saturday, September 6th?  Want to have some fun and contribute to a worthwhile event? Visit  the www.walkmitchell.org website and get the scoop.  There is a Tan-Dogs team then and you can join by  clicking on the Tan-Dog’s Team link in the right-hand column, then clicking on "Join Team".  If you prefer to donate to the team instead of walking/running with us (at this point we’re all walkers!), there is also a "Donate Now" button given here.  Additional details regarding start time and additional evening activities are found here also.  It’ll be a fun evening in support of a great cause!  Please join us in helping fund wishes for area kids!!

URGENT!!!!  Substitute school bus drivers needed.  We need drivers to substitute occasionally for route drivers in the morning and/or afternoon.  Hours are approximately 6:15 - 8:00 in the morning and about 3:00 - 4:30 in the afternoon depending on the route and passengers riding. The pay is $30 per route or $60 for the day (both morning and afternoon routes).  The district will pay for expenses to get your CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements that include a physical.  Contact Supt.
