The SCW Blackhawks have lost a true fan. Sanborn Central is deeply saddened and would like to express our sympathies to the family and friends of Greg "Ace" Uken. His funeral is tomorrow at 11:00am at St. Wilfred's Catholic Church in Woonsocket.
The Blackhawks Colorguard will be having a car wash at the Woonsocket School parking lot Tuesday July 29th from 11am to 2pm. Take a break from your busy day to get your cars looking nice and shiny! Free will donation will go to help fund the colorguard girls with warm-up jackets and new equipment for their upcoming Winterguard season.
Bailey Moody did end up in 8th place in the pole bending with a beautiful belt buckle and scholarship at the National High School Rodeo Finals last week. She was #1 in South Dakota and earned her way into the top 20 out of 162 total contestants at the finals. Sanborn Central is very proud of Bailey and are fortunate to have so many students do such an outstanding job at the non-school sponsored events.
I would like to thank everybody for all the support I had during Nationals this year. I enjoyed all the text messages, phone calls, and donations I received! I made a lot of new friends and good memories. I will never forget Quinten, Darcy, or the experience of the special kids rodeo! I truly appreciate all the support a small town can give. Thank you! Bailey
