Do you know where Wanamingo, Minnesota is?  That’s where Mrs. Sevareid graduated from high school at.  She furthered her education with a 2 year degree as a Medical Secretary at Golden Valley Lutheran College and a 4 year Bachelor degree from Dakota Wesleyan University.  Her love of children led her into the teaching field and brought her to our Sanborn Central preschool room.  Watching our preschoolers learn new things and get excited about school is the main reason that she enjoys coming to school each day, but the smiles and hugs she gets on a daily basis also help!  Mrs. Sevareid married her childhood sweetheart on Valentine’s Day.  They have four children Matthew, Kyle, Kaisa, and McKenzie who are their parent’s pride and joy.  They have been blessed with 5 wonderful grandchildren – Madyson (12), Cameron and Skylar (9), Jaeda (3) and Memphis 2.  She and her husband love watching basketball games and going for rides on their motorcycle.

There will be a pep rally on Friday in Woonsocket beginning at 2:40 for the GBB Region 3 Championship Game.  GBB players, coaches, cheerleaders and any other students that have parent permission can leave SC at 2:25 to attend. GO BLACKHAWKS!!!

The SCW band will play on Friday night for the Girls Region 8:00PM Game  Blackhawks vs. DeSmet.  The SC bus will leave at 5:45PM from Forestburg and pick up Woonsocket students at 6:00PM.  All band students will get in free for the Region Game.

The Woonsocket Girls BB bus will leave Woonsocket at 5:30PM on Friday.  All the girls will be in Woonsocket after the pep rally, etc. so the bus will not go over to SC.  I have talked to Melissa and the cheerleaders will be in Woonsocket also.  However, if there are SC players/coaches riding back, the bus will drop them off at SC.

Huron boys will host Pierre at the Huron Arena Friday, March 7 at 6:00 pm in the District 3AA Championship Game.   Doors will open at 5:00 pm.    The winner advances to the State Tournament in Rapid City March 20-22.   The loser will host a Region 2AA game on Tuesday, March 11 at 6:00 pm.

The Region 3B girls basketball game between De Smet and Sanborn Central/Woonsocket will be Friday, March 7 at 8:00 pm.   At the conclusion of the Huron/Pierre game, the bleachers will be cleared for the fans of the De Smet/SC-Woonsocket fans.   The balcony seats are general admission seats for both games.

Admission will be $6 for adults and $4 for students – one admission for both games.   The arena will NOT be cleared after the Huron-Pierre game.   Awards will be given to the winning team, cut down one net, take a team picture, then proceed to the HEC social area for further pictures if they wish.

CTE Schedule for Wednesday, March 12th is 8:20 8th, 9:15 7th, 10:10 10th, 11:35 10th, 12:35 9th, and 1:30 11th

Due to the short week next week – we will do eligibility, homework club, and MS Updates on Wednesday, March 12th instead of Thursday March 13th.

Anyone interested in being an FFA member must join by March 15th – see Mr. Gross for more information.

We will leave Sanborn Central at 8:30 a.m. for DeSmet CDEs on Tuesday, March 11th. If students would like to be picked up at Artesian they need to come talk to Mr. Gross.

Our elementary students are celebrating Read Across America Day/Dr. Seuss Day all week long with “SEUSS-TASTIC” activities.  You can find these in our Goggle Drive – Misc Folder
