Upcoming Basketball Notes:
1/23 - The Boys Bus will leave Woonsocket at 2:15PM to pick up SC players and Cheerleaders at 2:25PM. The Girls Bus will leave SC 3:30 to pick up Woonsocket players at 3:40PM
1/25 Saturday- Boys Bus will leave Woonsocket at 9:20 to pick up SC players at 9:30AM
All boys and girls ages 9 -14 (as of January 1) are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2014 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. The local competition will be held on Sunday, January 26th at 1:00pm at the Sanborn Central Gym. Doors will open at 12:30. Contact Troy Olson at olsona@santel.net with any questions.
The Blackhawk cheerleaders will be sponsoring a cheer camp for kindergarten-6th grade students. Practice will be on February 9th from 1:00PM-5:00PM and the performance will be on February 11th during half time of the girl's basketball game. Cost is $10 per student if they have a shirt from the football camp or $20 per student if they need a shirt. Please contact Chelsea Wenzel with any questions! GAP has teamed with Lake Area Tech to offer a one day business camp on January 31st. See Mrs. Whitney or Mary for more information.

Soccer Volunteers……..At this time Sanborn Central is unsure if we will be offering a soccer program this spring. We are in need of an adult volunteer to head the program. If interested please contact Mrs. Whitney at linda.whitney@k12.sd.us prior to January 31st.
BASEBALL: I have added Sanborn Central to our baseball Coop. High School baseball is a Club sport and no funding comes from any school district, we are self-supported. If Sanborn Central has any kids that are interested in High School baseball they need to contact myself. Our team name will be the Hanson County Area Ducks. The fees are $50.00 to play. I also do my best to schedule games around Track, Most of the games we play are on Friday and Sunday, all weather permitting, believe me the weather is not the best in the spring for High school baseball. Please forward the information on to your kids at Sanborn Central. Any questions feel free to contact me as I do all the scheduling and supporting High school baseball. On January 31 thru February 2, Mitchell is hosting a class 'E" Coaching License clinic. This type of license is for coaching U10, U12 and U14 players. The curriculum focuses on the development of the player and takes the player from being technically oriented to refining those techniques and applying them to game situations. This clinic is being taught by DWU Men's Soccer coach Jeremy Tosaya. Coach Jeremy is an "A" Licensed Coach which is the highest level you can achieve. We are very lucky to be able to have this in Mitchell AND to have it taught by an "A" level instructor!! The course will run from Friday evening, all day Saturday and a portion of Sunday AT DWU. The Mitchell Soccer Association is looking at our current amount of teams to double for the spring season. We will be in need of coaches!! We like to have two coaches per team. The fee for the clinic is $60 per person. If you are interested in becoming a coach and wanting to attend, please let me know by Sunday January 19. I know this is late getting into our announcements – but please contact her if you are interested. MITCHELL SOCCER ASSOCIATION WILL PAY THE $60 FOR YOU TO ATTEND AND BECOME LICENSED!!!
