The Blackhawk Football Team traveled to Hitchcock last Friday and were defeated 32-12 by Hitchcock-Tulare.  The Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central Blackhawks fell behind early. Hitchcock-Tulare scored 2 quick TDs to jump out to a 16-0 lead.  With a little over 2 minutes left in first quarter there was a weather delay due to lightning. After the delay the Blackhawks were able to get their offense going and got back into the game.  Early in 2nd quarter Jarid Bechen got the Blackhawks on the board with a 40 yard run to make score 16-6 and that was halftime score. There was another delay before 2nd half could start.  Once play resumed the Blackhawks got another score on a 53 yard run by Austin Messmer to make it a 16-12 game.  However, Hitchcock-Tulare answered with a TD drive to make it 24-12 and added a late TD to make the final 32-12. Austin Messmer led the offense with 141 rushing yards on 31 carries. Jacob Fouberg had 15 tackles for the defense and Austin Messmer added 13 tackles. Garrett Larson also was in double digit tackles with 11.   The Blackhawks host Highmore-Harrold in Wessington Springs this week at 7:00 pm.  There will be a tailgate party beginning at 5:30.
