Orange Day

It’s Tacky Tourist Tuesday at Sanborn Central and it definitely looks like the Rebels are on a road trip today! 

Today the Lady Blackhawks travel to Springs with the Junior High hitting the first serve at 5:15.  GO Blackhawks!

There is tutoring tonight – a great chance to get some extra help on your assignments!

Football practice is at Woonsocket today.


5 gallon goal in honor of Tanna
The NHS will be hosting our fall blood drive on Wednesday, September 18th.  The goal we are striving to meet is 5 gallons or 40 pints.  We will have a 5 gallon bucket set out in the gym to symbolize our goal and what we have achieved throughout the day.  If you would like to donate and have not been contacted, please feel free to contact Tracy Moody or any National Honor Society member.

FFA Members-try on your FFA jackets to make sure that they still fit.  Let Mr. Gross know by Sept. 20th if your jacket no longer fits.

FFA Members:  For our upcoming tailgating fundraiser at next Friday's game against SBA, FFA Chapter Officers will need to bring 5 lbs. of BBQ already cooked and prepared as BBQ.  Please have it to the school by Thursday.  Also, every chapter member will need to bring either a pan of bars or cookies.  Starting Friday, there will be a sign up sheet in the Ag Room to choose what shift you would like to work.  This is a good fundraiser for us and participation in it is a part of your FFA participation agreement.  If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at shane.gross@k12.sd.us.

The School Spirit Club will be selling 4 beaded necklaces (one red, one blue, one black, one white) for $1 or you can purchase a decorated bandana and the four beaded necklaces for $5.  They will be sold on a first come first served basis until sold out. At Friday’s game – watch for a member of the student council selling balloons to be released during half time.  Cost will be $3 each or two for $5.00.  These yellow balloons are being launched in support of Tanna’s fight with Ewing Sarcoma.  Window painting – “Believe” or any variation - will be available for a mere $3.   All proceeds will be added to Tanna’s fund.

Picture retakes will be Tuesday, September 24th – if you are in need of retakes – make sure Mrs. Danek has your original package!

To celebrate National 4-H Week on October 6-12th, the Sanborn County Extension Office is inviting everyone to be part of a 14 day photo challenge.  All youth and adults are invited to pull out their cameras and become photographers.  The goal will be to take a picture of all 14 items listed below during the weeks of October 1-14.  After you have completed the project, you will need to print the pictures and bring them to the Extension Office by Friday, October 25th.  (Pictures can be displayed in a small photo album or printed four to a page.)  We will be displaying the projects in the Courthouse for everyone to see the week of October 28-November 1st!  For more information – see Mary

BREAKING NEWS:  When we do eligibility Thursday, September 19th, we will need a list of all missing assignments for HS students no later than noon.  Students will be notified Thursday afternoon, if the work isn’t turned in Friday morning – parents will be notified and you will be here Monday for the extra help day at 8:00 am.  You will stay until your work is done!  MS students – this applies to you also!
