This coming Tuesday, August 27th at 7pm, Mr. Kroeger would like to have a Marching Band Parent meeting for anyone who can make it in Woonsocket! Discussion will include transportation of percussion/ tubas/ colorguard equipment to parades, fitting of uniforms, uniform care, and any questions you may have.

Mr. Kroeger sent out the syllabus today for 8th-12th band. If you haven't seen it, it is under the documents tab of the Blackhawks band website.

Starting next week, Mr. Kroeger will be introducing the 5th grade students to the band instruments. Students will get a chance to try every instrument out except percussion(drums and mallets). After this process is complete, there will be an instrumental display Tuesday night Sep. 10th at Sanborn Central from 5pm to 6:30pm. During this time, you will be able to meet with people that provide instruments through purchase/ rental.

Special notice on requirements for percussion: In order to start percussion in band this year, students will have to audition for a spot. Requirements for this, will be two years of piano. The other option this year’s 5thgrade students will have to play percussion is to complete their 5th grade year on another instrument. After the year is over, they will be considered for a chance to play percussion their 6th grade year if they so choose.
