TODAY - FRIDAY:

Today is a School Pride Day. Everyone should be dressed accordingly.

Tom Fridley and Lyle Collins would like to know if there is enough interest to host a spring gun safety course. This would be for any youth turning 12 before the end of the year. If interested, please contact Tom Fridley at sheriff@santel.net or Lyle Collins at 605-495-4121 no later than today.

Several students are attending the FFA CDE in Redfield today.

There will be a Pep Rally in Woonsocket this afternoon for the girls’ basketball team at 2:30 p.m.  Coaches, cheerleaders and varsity girls’ basketball players will be bussed over at 2:15 p.m. Any other student wishing to attend must have parent permission prior to noon on Friday. The Pep Rally will include cheers and chants by the cheerleaders, a skit “Blackhawk Fever” by Lieber and crew, the introduction of players and coaches, a game directed by Tara Weber, the Blackhawk School Song, and a performance by Mr. Kroeger.

The Lady Blackhawks will be playing for the Region 5 Championship against Mitchell Christian at the Huron Arena tonight at 7:00 p.m. The player and cheerleader bus will leave Sanborn Central at 5:00 p.m. and Woonsocket at 5:15 p.m.

Tonight’s game will be on KOOL 98.3 FM radio.

The SCW Pep Band will be playing before and during halftime of tonight’s game at the Huron Arena. A bus for band members will leave Woonsocket at 5:15 p.m. and Sanborn Central at 5:30 p.m. Band members are not required to ride the bus, but will need to have parent permission to drive up themselves (the required form needs to be filled out ahead of time). If band members do not ride the bus, they will need to follow the bus or meet the bus at the band entrance if they want to get in free as the only way for free admission is through the entrance for band students. All band members should be prepared to help unload the bus at 6:10 p.m. Members need to be seated and ready to play by 6:30 p.m. and 2 minutes before halftime. Members that ride the bus to Huron but do not want to ride the bus home must also have parent permission via the required form. If a band member is at the game and is not playing basketball or cheerleading, they are expected to play in Pep Band or they will be dropped a letter grade in Band.
