TODAY - THURSDAY:
 
Basketball practice: Girls at Woonsocket, Boys at Sanborn Central
 
The Children’s Choir Festival takes place in Brookings today. Cole Moody will be participating.
 
The High School Student of the Month assembly for January will take place today.
 
Eligibility and Homework Club will be calculated this afternoon.

FRIDAY:
 
Basketball practice: 7th Girls at Sanborn Central
 
6th Grade will have Guidance on Friday.
 
Mr. Kroeger will be gone on Friday. There will be no band or lessons. The Pep Band will not be playing Friday night.
 
The Blackhawks have double-header basketball games against Highmore-Harrold in Woonsocket on Friday. The boys will be playing first. Games start at 4:00 p.m. in the following order: JV Boys, JV Girls, Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls.
 
The Woonsocket Junior Class will be serving BBQ pulled pork sandwiches during the games on Friday starting at 4:00 p.m. Sandwich, chips, pop/water and bar will be $5.00, or a sandwich only for $3.00.

THIS WEEKEND:
 
The District Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest will be held in DeSmet on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.

MONDAY:
 
Basketball practice: Boys at Woonsocket
 
The Lady Blackhawks have basketball games at James Valley Christian School in Huron on Monday. The JH girls will play at 5:15 p.m., JV girls at 6:30 p.m. and Varsity girls around 8:00 p.m.

TUESDAY:

The School Board will have their February meeting on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.

REMINDERS:
 
The SCW Blackhawks caps have arrived and will be available at home basketball games or by contacting Troy Olson.  Cost is $15.
 
The Way Station in Woonsocket will deliver valentine specials to students for free on Valentine’s Day if ordered before February 14. The basic special is a 9” air-filled valentine balloon attached to a box of assorted candy with a bow for $7.50. Add a 10” bear for $8.25 or a 15” bear for $13.50. They also have candy bouquets, mylar balloons and fresh flowers. Give them a call at 605-796-4348 to customize your order. Delivery is also available to all surrounding areas, or you can pick up your order yourself at the Way Station.
 
Logan Moody’s February Caring Project is to send valentines to the Veteran’s Hospital and local nursing homes. Elementary students will be making valentines. If you would care to donate for postage or make some valentines, please contact Mary at mary.ackman@k12.sd.us.
