SANBORN CENTRAL E-NEWS

The Blackhawk Boys basketball team (High School only) will be holding a “snack” scrimmage Wednesday, December 5th at 3:45 at the Sanborn Central Gym. Fans are welcome to attend and are invited to bring packaged snack foods for ‘’admission” (optional). The snacks will be used for the boys on their bus trips to practices. This scrimmage will be an opportunity for fans to get an early look at this year’s Blackhawks before they open their season on December 8th.

From Logan Moody: I am holding a food drive at Sanborn Central for part of my Senior Project, “What Can I Do to Help,” from December 5th until December 21st. So your children are welcome to bring imperishable food items to the school to donate to the Sanborn County Food Pantry. Have your child take their item to their classroom teacher.

PARENT PORTAL UPDATES:

Log into your Parent Portal (
www.sanborncentral.com).

Household Information – Click on this link to check the information for your household as well as each individual. Request an update if you see anything incorrect.

Calendar – You will see a calendar with information for your students. The bell icon indicates an attendance event and the A+ icon indicates assignments (both past and future, depending on how the teacher utilizes the portal).

To Do List – This includes assignments that have been entered by the teacher but which are not complete yet. Don’t panic as this also includes assignments that are assigned with a due date in the future. Once a grade is entered, the assignment will disappear from the list. This is a great way to remind a student that their book report is due, or that a big test is coming up.

Reports – Here you will see the student schedule, missing assignments (only those the teacher has marked missing), a transcript and a copy of the current report card.

Select your student and you will see an individual calendar, schedule and To Do List for that student. Under Schedule you can click the A+ icon to view the assignments and scores.

Keep in mind that students are able to request their own login username/password to help them keep current with their assignments and grades.

If assistance is needed with your portal, please contact the school and they will be glad to help you with it. Communication between students, parents and the staff are vital to each and every child’s education.
