From  Coach Kolousek: The Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central Blackhawks ended their regular season with a 64-12 loss to Corsica/Stickney last Friday night. In the first quarter and early in second quarter Corsica/Stickney used some big runs to build up a 48-0 lead. The Blackhawks were able to score consecutive touchdowns on runs by Tyler Krueger. However a long pass play and another run by Corsica/Stickney put them up 64-12 and that was the final score. Offensively, Trevor Easton led in rushing with 58 yards on 9 carries. Todd Stekl was 8 of 16 passing for 53 yards. Deion Sales had 3 catches for 39 yards. Defensively, Austin and Blake Messmer each had 6 tackles and Jarid Bechen added 5 tackles. The loss puts the Blackhawk’s record at 2-6 and for the first time in the 6 year history of the Wessington Springs and Woonsocket coop and last 2 years with Sanborn Central the Blackhawks will not qualify for the playoffs.

From Coach Schmit & Coach Leber: The SC/W 5th/6th boys basketball team participated in the CBH Tournament in Plankinton on Saturday. They played Kimball first and stuck with them and were ahead of them at half-time but in the second half they just were more aggressive and took the lead. SCW lost, 13-23. They played Corsica right away and they were a tough team. SCW lost, 13-26. Good job, boys!  We are improving.
