Congratulations to the JH and JV football teams on their victories yesterday against Howard.
 
CONCESSION STAND HELP NEEDED: The concession stand is in need of 5/6th parents to work on Tuesday (September 25) during the home basketball games, and on Thursday and Saturday for the 281 Volleyball Tournament that will be held at Sanborn Central. TODAY - TUESDAY:
 
Punt, Pass & Kick registrations are due today. See below, under THURSDAY, for more information.
 
Juniors and Seniors are attending Fall Planning Days at DWU in Mitchell this morning.
 
The Lady Blackhawks have volleyball games against Highmore/Harrold at Highmore tonight. JH will play at 5:15 p.m., JV at 6:30 p.m. and Varsity when they’re finished. The player bus will leave at 3:25 p.m.
 
The 5/6th girls and boys basketball teams have games against Ethan at Sanborn Central tonight. The girls will play at 5:30 p.m. followed by the boys.

WEDNESDAY:
 
Sanborn Central’s 3rd Annual Volleyball Dig Pink Night will be on Friday, October 19. Here is an order form for pink shirts. Orders with payment need to be returned to the school by Wednesday. All proceeds benefit the You’ll Never Walk Alone Breast Cancer Foundation.
 
 
Several FFA students will be attending a Land Judging Contest in Wessington Springs on Wednesday.

THURSDAY:
 
Eligibility and Homework Club will be calculated on Thursday.
 
Sanborn Central will be hosting the 281 Conference Volleyball Tournament on Thursday, along with James Valley Christian. Highmore-Harrold (#4) will play Hitchcock-Tulare (#5) at 6:00 p.m. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (#1) will play Iroquois (#8) at 7:15 p.m. James Valley Christian is hosting the JVC (#2) vs. SBA (#7) and Wosley-Wessington(#3) vs. Wessington Springs( #6) matches. The tournament concludes on Saturday. If SCW wins on Thursday, they will host the winners bracket, and if they lose they will host the losers bracket.
 
 
There will be a Punt, Pass & Kick Competition on Thursday at the Wessington Springs Football Field. This is for girls and boys ages 6-15. The competition begins at 6:00 p.m. There will be an instructional and practice period at 5:30 p.m. for those interested. To register, please return the entry form (link below) to Coach Kolousek no later than Tuesday, September 25.

FRIDAY:
 
Friday is School Pride Day. Everyone should dress accordingly.
 
The SCW Marching Band will practice at Sanborn Central on Friday morning from 8:45 until 10:30 a.m. The following week they will practice in Woonsocket. They will be marching in the DWU parade on Saturday, October 6.
 
The WWSSC Blackhawks travel to Hitchcock on Friday for football against Hitchcock-Tulare at 7:00 p.m.

SATURDAY:
 
The JH Lady Blackhawks will be participating in the 281 JH Volleyball Tournament on Saturday in Plankinton. The first matches are at 1:00 p.m. SCW will play in the second set of matches.
 
 
If Sanborn Central/Woonsocket wins on Thursday, they will be hosting the winners bracket on Saturday. If they lose on Thursday, they will be hosting the losers bracket. Matches will start at 3:00 p.m. either way, with the final match scheduled for 6:45 p.m. that evening.

MONDAY:
 
Seniors will be having idea discussions with their advisors on Monday for their Senior projects.
