SANBORN CENTRAL E-NEWS
 
Congratulations to the Homecoming King and Queen candidates – Brittney Davis-Schacht, Logan Moody, Rachelle Moore, Candace Page-Marten, Tristen Wormstadt, Andrew Duffel, Nick Miller, Alex Schmidt, and Todd Stekl. The high school students will be choosing the King and Queen from this slate of candidates.
 
Governor Daugaard has declared September 9-15 as Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week for their dedication and support to students and families with disabilities.
 
Band dress for Friday will be blue jeans, comfortable shoes, and the shirt the school will provide. Mr. Kroeger recommends a white t-shirt be worn under your band shirt.

Wednesday’s Homecoming Theme – Generation Day – Grades K-5 and 11-12 should dress as elderly people; Grades 6-10 should dress as babies.

FRIDAY:
 
Friday’s Homecoming Theme – School Spirit Day
 
School will dismiss early on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
 
The SCW Marching Band will be performing in the Woonsocket Homecoming Parade on Friday. The parade starts at 1:00 p.m. Band members should wear blue jeans, comfortable shoes, and a shirt the school will provide (recommended to be worn with a white t-shirt underneath). A bus will take the 7-12 band students to the parade and return to Sanborn Central following the parade, but students will be responsible for their own transportation home from Sanborn Central since school will have already been dismissed.
 
The Homecoming football game will be held in Woonsocket on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. against Highmore/Harrold.
 
The Woonsocket Boosters are sponsoring a homecoming tailgate supper on Friday starting at 6:00 p.m. at the football field. Burger or brat, chips and drink for $5.00, with an additional burger or brat for $3.00 if purchased with a meal.

SATURDAY:
 
The Lady Blackhawks will be participating in a Volleyball Tournament in Bridgewater and Emery on Saturday. The tournament starts at 8:00 a.m. The Lady Blackhawks play their first match at 10:00 a.m. in Emery against Canistota. A full schedule will be available this week.

MONDAY:
 
There will be a Blood Drive at Sanborn Central on Monday.
 
Picture retakes are scheduled for Monday at 2:00 p.m.  Please return your original packet to either Mrs. Danek or Mary, no later than Monday morning, if you would like retakes taken.
 
There is a JH Football Jamboree in Wolsey on Monday starting at 4:00 p.m. (6th graders will not play until 6:00 p.m.) A complete schedule can be obtained by clicking the link below, or by clicking on the link contained within this calendar entry at www.sanborncentral.com or on the Sanborn Central mobile app.

TUESDAY:
 
The 5/6th girls and boys have basketball practice after school on Tuesday in Woonsocket.
 
The Lady Blackhawks play volleyball against Wolsey/Wessington at Wolsey on Tuesday. The JH girls start at 5:15 p.m., followed by JV and 6:30 p.m. and Varsity when they’re finished. The player bus will leave from Sanborn Central at 3:45 p.m.
