SANBORN CENTRAL E-NEWS

If your student would still like to participate in the Punt, Pass & Kick Competition today at Wessington Springs but didn’t get pre-registered, they are still welcome to compete. They just need to be at the Wessington Springs football field tonight before 6:00 p.m. and see one of the coaches to get signed up.

From FFA instructor, Mr. Gross:
Our SC FFA students represented us well at the Wessington Springs Land and Range Event. The individual team members performed really well. There was a clay pan in one of the pits that threw off many of the kids from every school. Afterwards, they realized that mistake. I'm very proud of how well they perform and I'm looking forward to next year. I feel that we've formed a strong foundation that will allow us to build on. We have all learned so much this year. We should be in a good position to be one of the top teams next year. I'd also like to thank the students for their handwork in preparing for the event.

JV: Won 2-0 (25-16, 25-11) Leader Kills: Ashley Schmit 4; Leader Digs: Savannah Swenson 8 ; Leader Assists: Bailey Moody 4; Leader Aces: Ashley Schmit, Savannah Swenson 4; Leader Blocks: Myah Selland 2.

Thanks to the 5/6th coaches for their game summaries:

The SCW 5/6th grade boys lost their basketball game to Ethan last night. It was a great effort by all players. Coach Lieber and Coach Schmit were proud of the teamwork displayed. We stuck with the Rustlers in the first quarter, and then Ethan made a run to get the lead. We will continue to improve throughout the season and look forward to more good things to come.

The SCW 5/6th grade girls also lost to Ethan last night. Coach Moody and Coach Foos were impressed, however, with the effort they put forth.
