SANBORN CENTRAL e-NEWS

Tim McCain is still looking for one more volunteer to be on the chain gang for the football game at Sanborn Central on Friday night, August 31. If you can help, please contact Tim at tim.mccain@k12.sd.us or 605-495-4183.

Good luck to the Blackhawks tonight as they play their first football game of the season against Hanson at Woonsocket at 7:00 p.m.

Good luck to Tater Moody, Mason Moody, Bailey Moody, and Logan Moody who will be participating in the State 4-H Finals this weekend.

Sanborn Central welcomes Kathy Stevens to the staff. Kathy is the shared counselor, and will be at the school often throughout the year doing projects with the students. If your student needs to visit with Mrs. Stevens, contact Mrs. Vermeulen, Mrs. Whitney or Mary for her schedule.

Backpacks and school supplies were donated by the Women of the Forestburg Lutheran Church in memory of Viona Feistner, an advocate of education, and are in the workroom.  The school is very fortunate to have many people caring so much about the education of their youth.

The Rebel Booster Club is managing the concession stand again this year. Parents are asked to help out by working when they are scheduled. If you are unable to work on your scheduled day, please find a replacement. Also, please notify Tracy Moody at tracy.moody@k12.sd.us of any changes so the schedule can be updated. A link to the schedule is below, or you can find it on the Rebel Booster Club page at www.sanborncentral.com. Thank you for your support!

Rebel Booster Club Concession Stand Worker Schedule:

Today is the last day that the Rebel e-News will be mailed out using the old mailing list. If you still wish to receive notifications by e-mail and haven’t made the switch yet, you should follow the instructions you received in a Google Groups invitation email about a week ago to join the new list format. If that invitation has expired, or if you did not receive an email, you can go to the e-News link at www.sanborncentral.com and follow the instructions on the right side of the screen to subscribe.

PLAY FOUNDATION FOOTBALL:

Foundation Football (sponsored by the Sanborn Central Scholarship Foundation) will once again be played at every Blackhawks regular season home football game (at Sanborn Central, Woonsocket and Wessington Springs) at the end of the 1st and 3rd quarters.

$20 buys ownership of a line of scrimmage for the regular season. Your line of scrimmage will be drawn at random and is good for both sides of the field (for example, you own both 28 yard lines). The 50 yard line and both goal lines are tied together. Whoever owns the yard line where the ball is spotted at the end of the 1st quarter and also the 3rd quarter wins $20.

About half of the yard lines have been sold so far. Justin Dean and Troy Olson will be at the game tonight in Woonsocket, so if you want to support the Foundation please find one of them and they’ll get a line of scrimmage drawn for you. You can also give them a call to get started (Justin Dean at 605-999-4239 or Troy Olson at 605-999-1058).

You do not need to be present to win, but hope to see you at the games cheering for the Blackhawks!
